EP REVIEW: Until the End of October - Empires

Hailing from Sweden, Until the End of October are a band that’s aiming to combine some of the styles of music that their homeland is best known for with post-hardcore and metalcore to create their own take on the styles they take influence from. This month they released their debut EP, Empires, and it shows a very competent band finding their feet together.

Regarding White Supremacist Bands and the Sites which Host Them

2017 is proving to be an extremely difficult year to just sit by and ignore. With events in the prior year providing a springboard for the far right to preach their hatred in a scale that up until recently had been unprecedented in the modern era, it is becoming the duty of social media to monitor and moderate extreme views. Already we’ve seen Facebook and Twitter pledging to remove known far-right and white supremacist groups from their platforms. However, how far are they going when it comes to smaller groups, or in the music scene?

EP REVIEW: BRATS - Ainikoiyo / Nounai Shoukyo Game

You can say what you like about Japanese "kawaii-core" group LADYBABY, but there's no denying that the two girls fronting the band, Rie Kaneko and Rei Kuromiya, can sing. As it turns out, Kuromiya has long had her own band with her sister and some friends, called BRATS and after breaking out with two singles becoming theme tunes for an anime and a movie, they've released the international edition of their first EP, アイニコイヨ / 脳内消去ゲーム (Ainikoiyo / Nounai Shoukyo Game).



ALBUM REVIEW: Digital Nova - Orphelins

There's a lot of rap metal coming out of France of late, with newbies such as Smash Hit Combo taking their cue from classic groups such as Pleymo, Lofofora and Mass Hysteria. One of the other newer bands to come out of the scene is Marseille quartet Digital Nova, and their NFFP Records debut Orphelins, released late last year, shows a bright future awaits them.
